Retreat at Rochdale

Well I just had to escape for a little R & R with my mate Katrina in Rochdale. We always have such a fun time, we laugh constantly (whether that means we've totally lost the plot or just find everything funny I don't know) and drink far too much red wine, but hey ho, it has to be done.

I went again to St Thomas' Craft group - what a lovely bunch of ladies they are - they were busy making small items for their annual craft fair (held in October) and although it seems ages away, we all know just how quickly it will be here. So I spent the day with them making cathedral window Christmas decorations, kimono wallhangings etc. It was another day packed with good company, laughter and friendship. At the end of the day, that's what it's all about, having a good time, making new friends and doing something productive into the bargain.

This is a picture of Katrina, trying to look busy, and Pat, who was busy!!!

Katrina was making an advent calender with small stockings as the pockets.

Pat was making greetings cards with odds and ends of fabrics, threads and various embellishments. They ended up looking really lovely and hopefully will sell well at the craft fair.

Although I don't have photos of everyone else hard at work, I can assure you they were. Another good day.

Hi Kate, just logged on and saw myself looking very "granny grump" with my glasses perched on the end of my nose. Still hard at the card making business and now having a go at textile art using quilting and bits and pieces, as well as string art.Its my "expression" mode!! We were also glad to see you, always you are so welcome, not just for your inspiration, but your lovely company. Take care, hope to see you again soon. xx
