The middle ATC is machine stitched onto black fabric that is bonded onto fast-2-fuse, which is a great product. I usually use it for fabric boxes and bowls, but being bonded on both sides makes it very suitable for use with ATCs, and it gives a good firm piece to work on. I have stitched on a few red seed beads in the shape of a cross at the bottom.
The third piece is a 3D poppy made with fabric that has been attached to another piece of fabric with bondaweb, cut out then stitched onto the background fabric. I used a glue dot covered with glitter for the centre of the poppy, not botanically correct, but I liked the effect.
Ann and I have had a number of classes this week, a mixture of sewing and painting. It was nice to be doing something a little different and I think the ladies who came to the classes enjoyed themselves too. They was lots of laughter as per usual, so that is always a good sign.
We have done a couple of talks this week to local women's groups and WRI groups. It is always lovely to meet new people and explain about our work. One group said it was obvious that we really enjoy what we do, as our enthusiasm was positively infectious! What a nice thing to say!!! It is true though we do really love what we are doing, I just wish there were more hours in the day to get all the things done I want to.
Ann and I designed a quilt for a local Ice Cream Factory in Mouswald, Dumfries. We have called it the Drummuir Quilt, and it looks like big dollops of ice cream in flavours of strawberry, blueberry, pistachio and blackcurrant. So from that description you can get the ideas of the colours involved. A local newspaper photographer took pictures yesterday at the Ice Cream factory with the owner, so as soon as I get one I shall post it here for all to see.

Phew! Busy week Kate! Sounds like you're ready for the weekend. Your poppy ATCs are beautiful.
The poppy in the middle is my favourite. I am now off to find out what fast-to-fuse is!
