Loch Lomond quilt show

I had a really lovely day on Wednesday as I went to the Loch Lomond Quilt show. It was a fantastic day both for weather and the wonderful quilts on display. I am happy to say that I had a quilt in the "30 of the best" show. It was a group of quilts from our region and the Borders region, there really were some stunning ones on display, so to be able to exhibit mine was a real honour.

Below is a photo of it. I made it for my Father -in-Law for his 80th birthday. It was made out of a fabric that reminded me of camouflage material, so the idea was he could snuggle up under it for his afternoon nap, being safe in the thought that he wouldn't be seen by the enemy!!! (my Mother-in-Law Joss, who is an absolute love). I transferred some of his old black and white army photos to fabric, so he has a reminder of his time with the regiment. He loves the quilt and uses it regularly, which after all is why we make quilts, to be used.
