Today we have been to a "Friendship Lunch" hosted by Solway Quilters. It is something that has been going on for a few years, hosted by various quilting groups in the local area, for other groups to attend. It has been a lovely day, we started with coffee and home baking, followed by a "Show and Tell" from Solway Quilters (Dumfries) and then lunch. After that we had another "Show and Tell" from Machars Quilters (Newton Stewart), Threave Quilters (Castle Douglas) and Jolly Jesters (Twynholm) followed by a super raffle, more coffee, tea and lots more home baking. Heaven help the diet!!!
It was really lovely to see all the fabulous work that has been produced. There are so many talented people out there who are all so generous with their time and expertise. I always think that I just wish there were more hours in the day to get all the things done I want to make. Every time I see other people's work it inspires me to try something different and have a go at a new technique. Oh for 36 hours in every 24!!
Ann and I have reorganised the shop again. We are ordering a lot more material and so need to make room. Quart and pint pot come to mind.... Anyway I'm off to continue with a work in progress ( see pic above) - I don't normally like to have lots of unfinished projects, I'm more of a get it finished gal. This work is from a book called "Strips 'n curves by Louisa L. Smith. It has been a lovely piece to do, I just can't decide how to finish it off. Any ideas will be gratefully received. Should I put a border around or not, if so how wide, what colour etc etc. You can see my problem can't you? I'm having an indecisive phase!!
